Bamboo Carved Pine Chest on Plinth
$2,250.00
During the late Victorian and into the Edwardian era, skilled craftsmen would carve pine or beech wood to imitate bamboo as the Japanese couldn't export enough bamboo furniture to satisfy the huge demand in Europe. This chest is a beautiful rustic example of that skill with its' subtle bamboo detail around the edges. It has a lovely washed out pale pine colour with beautiful blue/green distressed painted drawer interiors.
